Costa den Blanes is formed from two completely distinct parts. Costa den Blanes has a residential zone with housing constructed on the ridge of Na Burguesa and another residential zone next to the coast. In Costa den Blanes we must mention Marineland, a very interesting complex with marine and exotic animals.
Costa de la Calma first appeared in the annals of the history of Mallorca when the King of Aragon Pedro IV landed on the shore in the year 1343 before conquering the island and overthrowing Jaime III of Mallorca. Costa de la Calma celebrates its yearly festivities from the 4th to the l5th of August together with the locality known as El Toro. Costa de la Calma combines the significance of its name, that is to say calmness or tranquillity, with the typical touristic activity common to all coastal localities of the Mediterranean.
The municipality of Calvià has five excellent courses for playing this sport: Golf Santa Ponsa I, Golf Santa Ponsa II, Golf Santa Ponsa III, Real Golf de Bendinat and Club de Golf de Poniente.
In the municipality of Calvià there are five marine sports clubs: Portals Nous, Portals Vells, Palmanova, Puerto Portals and Port Adriano. All these offer an excellent quality in all their services related to sailing and other pleasure water sports.
Costa de la Calma honours its name in that it is a quiet residential and serene place, very near Palma de Mallorca. In Costa de la Calma there are many outstanding points including the quality of its water, the amount of coves and the innumerable places that the locality offers to those who visit it, all with a singular beauty.
