Outstanding Features
Cala Pi is an area of Llucmajor which has developed enormously in the last few years thanks to tourism and the renewed respect that it has awoken again between locals and outsiders.
Cala Pi has been, historically speaking, a defensive coastal wall in Mallorca. This was due to the incapacity of enemy ships to be able to put ashore owing to the steep cliffs on the coast. However, according to tradition, the much feared pirate 'red beard' managed to pillage the area through Cala Beltrán. This and other pirate attacks are the reason for the existence of the watchtower of Cala Pi.
